Mike Daniels was one of the more surprising releases for the Cincinnati Bengals when the team trimmed the roster to 53 players.
Now the veteran defensive tackle is back on the practice squad.
Monday, the Bengals announced it had signed back Daniels to the practice squad, replacing cornerback Winston Rose.
Daniels had lost out on a numbers game in the defensive trenches right at final cuts, but it always felt like he’d be one of the first guys brought back once a space opened.
Still, new practice squad rules allow the Bengals to roster a handful of veterans on the 16-man practice squad and have more lenient call-up and protection rules on a weekly basis, too.
A fun turnover machine at other stops and developmental project, Rose figures to latch on somewhere else quickly, if not back in Cincinnati, too.
