The Cincinnati Bengals won’t have star running back Joe Mixon on the field for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Mixon tested positive for COVID-19 and will enter protocols. The news comes one day after the Bengals had to put other major names on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
With 1,205 yards and 13 scores on a 4.1 average, Mixon’s having one of the best seasons of his career for the AFC North champs.
But prior to this news, the team had been mum on whether he and other starters would even play in Cleveland. There’s playoff seeding at stake, but the team has yet to decide whether it will risk starters.
