The Cincinnati Bengals didn’t throw out any major shockers on the inactives list for Thursday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
Geno Atkins headlines the list of inactives and isn’t alone as far as big names on the defensive side of the ball:
- WR Auden Tate
- DT Geno Atkins
- DT Mike Daniels
- S Shawn Williams
- RB Trayveon Williams
- LB Markus Bailey
- K Austin Seibert
With Mike Daniels out, the Bengals — on paper — have an uphill climb against elite Browns running back Nick Chubb.
To counteract the losses on the inactives list, the Bengals used a new rule to promote two players from the practice squad to the active roster.
The Browns aren’t looking much better on a short week, with some notable starters on the inactives list:
- WR Donovan Peoples-Jones
- CB Greedy Williams
- CB Kevin Johnson
- LB Jacob Phillips
- LB Mack Wilson
- DE Olivier Vernon
- 4 keys to a Bengals victory over the Browns in Week 2
- NFL players sure noticed Joe Burrow’s late-game drive and pro potential
