The Cincinnati Bengals continue to find ways to evaluate and potentially add to the roster and practice squad ahead of Week 1.
Some of those ways are very creative, too — such as working out an Olympic wrestler.
According to WLWT’s Charlie Clifford, the Bengals hosted Lawrenceburg native Mason Parris on a workout Monday.
Fresh off his appearance at the Paris Olympic Games, Parris didn’t earn a contract with the team, but a workout is a quick way to get a foot in the proverbial door of the pros.
Parris, who played football at Lawrenceburg High School, won the Dan Hodge trophy at Michigan and was the national heavyweight champion, got looks from the Bengals at linebacker and defensive end.
At the high school level, Parris was first-team All-State three times and TriState Football Indiana Defensive Player of the Year a trio of times, too.
