Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman Geno Atkins isn’t one of the highest-graded pass rushers in the upcoming “Madden NFL 21” from EA Sports.
Atkins’ name doesn’t appear on the top-10 list released recently not long after D.J. Reader found out about his rating and wasn’t too happy about it.
The list features Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams as the lone 99. The lowest, Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs, checks in at a 92.
Atkins did regress in 2019, dropping to a 76.2 grade at PFF and seeing his pressure numbers dip from 35 to 20 despite an uptick in snaps, going from 795 to 816.
In the interest of getting Atkins some help, Cincinnati brought on Reader and the coaching staff has been very open about reducing Atkins’ snaps to make him more effective in 2020.
If it all goes according to plan, Atkins might not be out of the top 10 for long.
