Bengals fans roast NFL officials for lack of late hit call vs. Broncos

And the roast was well-earned.

During an offensive snooze-fest of a first half between the Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos, there was a play that seemed to feature a blatant late hit that should’ve been flagged.

Naturally … it wasn’t.

Said play featured Bengals tight end Drew Sample getting horsecollar tackled, then late hit by Bradley Chubb. That late hit featured Chubb taking multiple steps, then diving at Sample.

Also naturally, fans — Bengals and otherwise — had some funny thoughts about the decision not to call that penalty while NFL officials continue to sporadically call games as a whole, including the silly emphasis on taunting.

Here are some of the best reactions.
