Ahead of the Week 7 game against the Cleveland Browns, the Cincinnati Bengals appeared healthier than they have all season on midweek injury reports.
But the big exception was massive—Joe Burrow appeared with a new injury.
Burrow’s name had commonly been on the injury report this season with a “wrist’ designation despite full practices. It was the team likely just being extra careful after that whole unfounded NFL investigation from last year.
Anyway, Burrow appeared on the midweek report with a “shin” injury.
According to Bengals coach Zac Taylor on Friday, via CLNS Media’s Mike Petraglia, there’s “no issue,” and Burrow was merely sore.
So, for the most part, good news on the Burrow front. That said, some fans surely raised an eyebrow at this, considering “soreness” eventually morphed into the season-derailing non-contact calf injury in training camp last year.
Still, Burrow and the Bengals have blatantly learned from that mishap, as they’ve said multiple times. As Petraglia later reported, Burrow wasn’t wearing anything of note on his shins during Friday’s practice.
