Cincinnati Bengals rookie cornerback DJ Turner was one of our big stock risers by the bye week for good reason.
The second-round pick has had to step up big already just a few games into his NFL debut, in large part due to an injury suffered by No. 1 corner Chidobe Awuzie.
Turner has been largely great in the process, with some highlight plays as a tackler in open space.
And as Pro Football Focus just pointed out, Turner actually paces all rookies with the lowest passer rating allowed in coverage so far.
We’ll see if that impressive spot holds, but it’s a great sign for Turner already:

So far in the secondary, most of the attention has gone to Cam Taylor-Britt’s breakout and rightfully so. But Turner isn’t far behind in impressiveness — which paints a pretty good picture of the long-term future of that secondary unit.
