Bengals betting odds tanking due to Joe Burrow’s injury

The Bengals started as notable favorites…not so much anymore.

The Cincinnati Bengals play the Los Angeles Rams on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” in Week 3 looking for their first win of the season. The betting odds for the game opened at -6.5 but have gotten much closer over the week the longer Burrow goes without being a sure start.

Currently on BetMGM Sportsbook, the Bengals sit at 2.5-point favorites after Burrow practiced Friday but was limited. It was the first day this week he actually participated in practice with his calf injury he reaggravated in the loss against the Ravens.

The betting odds are an apt illustration of how it seems the Bengals chances have felt throughout the week of practice, falling slowly. They are still favored, and mostly everyone else will be healthy and on the field.

It’s a good thing they have an extra day of rest before the game because Burrow needs all the time he can get to rest his legs before the game if he’s going to play. Even if he does play, he will likely still be limited in what he’s able to do on the field mobility-wise, but an injured Burrow is better than nothing.

The odds could continue to move with every day that passes when Burrow’s status goes public.
