Bengals begin climb back up power rankings after win over Saints

The Bengals make some moves in the latest power rankings.

Despite the sluggish start, the Cincinnati Bengals haven’t gone totally forgotten in power rankings.

In fact, after the win over the New Orleans Saints in the big return to the Superdome, the Bengals have quickly shot back into the top 10 of some rankings.

Nate Davis of USA Today tossed the Bengals up a handful of spots while commenting on the triumphant return:

8. Bengals (11): Note to QB Joe Burrow and WR Ja’Marr Chase – Super Bowl 59 is in New Orleans, where the duo was nearly as dominant Sunday as it was while winning the college football national championship game in 2020.”

Those Saints were down a ton of key players in that game, but it still shouldn’t go overlooked just how hard it is to steal a road win in New Orleans. Adding to the complexity for the Bengals was the fact it was an uncommon NFC opponent.

Given the 3-3 start but the promising signs, it might be just a matter of time before the Bengals can slip past the likes of the Ravens and Giants in the rankings while approaching the top five.
