The Cincinnati Bengals could have eyes on former Washington Commanders guard Brandon Scherff in free agency.

According to The Athletic’s Connor Hughes, the Bengals are one of three notable teams that have shown the most interest in the former top-five pick. The other two teams are the Jets and Jaguars.

The fifth pick in 2015 and subject of multiple tags in Washington, Scherff is still one of the best overall linemen in football when healthy and he’s still just 30 years old.

Attendance has been an issue for Scherff, though, as he’s played a maximum of 13 games per season dating back to 2016.

Onlookers should also note that the Jets and Jaguars are massive rebuilders that could end up putting this bidding war out of reach compared to where the Bengals would like to be.

Scherff, though, would be a massive upgrade to one of the two guard spots that will be remade this offseason.
