Oddsmakers aren’t in love with the idea of the Cincinnati Bengals at home against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1.

Despite the game taking place at Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday, the Bengals are 3.5-point underdogs at Tipico Sportsbook.

Which isn’t to say there aren’t big questions surrounding the Bengals as they head into the opener. Joe Burrow has yet to take a hit during live action, even if he is back and ready to play. The offensive line in front of him is still a question mark, too.

But the Vikings and old friend Mike Zimmer enter this one after a seven-win season and it’s hard to get a read on whether the offense will be fully clicking as early as Week 1, especially with quarterbacks bouncing on and off COVID reserve lists in August.

Typically, the home team gets a three-point buffer on spreads like this. It makes the Bengals a pretty interesting underdog play, especially in Week 1 where the unexpected can happen.
