The Cincinnati Bengals have announced the four practice squad players they’ll protect from waiver claims in Week 4.
Per the NFL transaction wire, these are the names:
- DT Kahlil McKenzie
- DB Torry McTyer
- WR Stanley Morgan
- G Alex Redmond
Morgan is again the headline name on the protected list due to his ability on special teams. Redmond is the biggest name this week though after re-joining the squad. He’s potentially a fix the coaching staff might try at right guard in the near future.
In a corresponding move, the team brought guard Keaton Sutherland to the main roster and Shaq Calhoun to the practice squad after waiving him and seeing him pass through unclaimed.
The Bengals can protect four players from getting claimed off the squad by other teams each week. Sutherland consistently being protected before his promotion this week means the names of the protected speak to guys the staff values highly.
