The Cincinnati Bengals now have two interviews for the defensive coordinator position lined up.
Per the NFL rumor mill, the first interview will happen on Tuesday with Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
The second won’t be far behind. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Bengals will also interview Patriots defensive coordinator Demarcus Covington.
With the Patriots seeking a new head coach, Covington has permission to look elsewhere for work.
Covington joined the Patriots and pro level in 2017 as an assistant and worked his way up through linebacker and defensive line coaching jobs to coordinator this past season.
Nothing exactly went right for the Patriots this past season, but Covington comes with a strong reputation and joins Graham as a strong one-two punch for the early interview cycle.
