Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons tweets out congratulations for fellow LSU alum Joe Burrow.

The NBA is on hiatus right now as they deal with the global coronavirus pandemic, but the NFL is working on a somewhat normal schedule. The league still held its draft on Thursday night through zoom video conferencing and everybody working from home and they had the attention of the entire sports world.

Philadelphia 76ers All-Star guard Ben Simmons, who is a big football fan, certainly had his eyes on it. When fellow LSU alum, and Heisman Trophy winner, Joe Burrow was selected with the first overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals, he tweeted out some love and congratulations for him.

Simmons only spent one season in the bayou averaging 19.2 points and 11.8 rebounds with 4.8 assists before also going number 1 in his draft in 2016. He did not have the same success at LSU that Burrow did, however. Burrow just finished up a 15-0 season while leading the Tigers to a national championship before heading off to the NFL.
