The Philadelphia 76ers are currently in a struggle with the Washington Wizards while inside the bubble in Orlando and it may have just gotten worse for them.
After allowing a much inferior Wizards team to come back and take a lead in the second half, they are now missing one of the best players in the league and certainly on their team the rest of the way.
All-Star leader Ben Simmons threw a pass into Al Horford in the third quarter, immediately winced, and turned into the locker room in serious pain. Simmons was then followed by general manager Elton Brand to check on him and now the worst-case scenario has been realized. Simmons is out for the rest of this one with a left knee issue.
It turns out that Ben Simmons has a left knee injury. He’s done for this one. #Sixers

The good news is that there appears to be no swelling or pain in the knee after leaving the court. This could be just a precautionary measure.
Early indications on Ben Simmons are encouraging — no swelling or pain in left knee after leaving court, sources tell ESPN.

Without Simmons, the Sixers will have to lean even more on the play of Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris. They cannot lose a game to a bad Wizards team even without Simmons. They have to be able to close this game out in the right way and finish it out. [lawrence-related id=36205,36198,36185]
