Ben Simmons, Sixers to open 2020-21 season vs. Bradley Beal, Wizards

The Philadelphia 76ers will open the season against Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards.

The Philadelphia 76ers are getting set for what is expected to be an interesting 2020-21 season. There will be no fans in the stands as the league tries to navigate how things will work during the global pandemic, but the fact remains that basketball will begin the season.

On Friday, the league announced the schedule for the first half of the season from Dec. 22 through March 4. The second half of the season’s schedule will be released later in the first half.

The Sixers will open up their new title quest under Doc Rivers on Dec. 23 when they host Bradley Beal, Russell Westbrook, and the Washington Wizards at 7:00 p.m. EST. It will be weird not having the fans in the stands at the Wells Fargo Center, but hopefully, things will get back to normal soon.

The team does not play on Christmas this season so they will face the New York Knicks the day after the holiday and they will face Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and the Brooklyn Nets on Jan. 7. They will welcome Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat to Philly on Jan. 12 and Jan. 14 and they will face LeBron James and the champion Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 27.
