Philadelphia 76ers fans can breathe a sigh of relief on Wednesday night after losing All-Star forward Ben Simmons to a knee injury in the team’s 107-98 win over the Washington Wizards in Orlando.
Despite general manager Elton Brand also joining Simmons in the locker room, the Sixers star did not feel any swelling nor any pain after leaving the game and there is now more good news on the knee issue.
According to The Athletic and The Stadium’s Shams Charania, Simmons’ MRI on the injury came back clean and he is now listed as day-to-day. This is good news for Philadelphia as initial thoughts were that maybe it was his back that he was dealing with prior to the league shut down.

There is a good chance that Simmons misses Friday’s game against the Orlando Magic which then causes things to be changed for coach Brett Brown, but as long as he is ready for the playoffs, they will be in good shape. They face the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday and he will be needed for that one. [lawrence-related id=36257,36243,36227]
