Ben Roethlisberger on the Steelers drafting a quarterback: ‘That’s their perogative’

Roethlisberger says all the right things about Pittsburgh drafting a quarterback.

There’s been plenty of chatter about the Pittsburgh Steelers potentially drafting a quarterback in the 2020 NFL draft. Given how poorly the Steelers reserves played last season with Ben Roethlisberger out, it isn’t really a reach to assume the front office isn’t content with Mason Rudolph, Devin Hodges and Paxton Lynch.

Roethlisberger went on SiriusXM NFL radio and told host and former Steelers QB Bruce Gradkowski if the Steelers feel like there’s a better quarterback out there in the draft they should draft them.

This is a great attitude to have even if Roethlisberger doesn’t mean a word he’s saying. The reality is Roethlisberger cannot play forever and the only players currently under contract in line to replace him were dreadful. Roethlisberger’s comments weren’t a dig at guys like Hodges and Rudolph at all. He is simply leaving the decision up to the front office and he has no opinion one way or another.
