During the SEC Network+ broadcast of the Tennessee-Auburn series finale, it was noted Joyce’s 105.5 mph pitch is the fastest in college baseball history.

According to UT, Joyce’s 105.5 mph speed would be the second-fastest recorded pitch in Major League Baseball, 0.3 mph behind Aroldis Chapman. Chapman threw a 105.8 mph pitch for the Reds against San Diego on Sept. 24, 2010.
