Bellator 252 video: Jorge Masvidal protege Roman Faraldo nails nasty flying knee TKO in debut

Jorge Masvidal protege Roman Faraldo went full “Gamebred” with a flying knee TKO in his Bellator debut.

[autotag]Roman Faraldo[/autotag][autotag] has struggled to find fights, but Thursday, he found one – and ended it in emphatic fashion.

A member of American Top Team, Faraldo (4-0 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) shares a striking coach, Paulino Hernandez, with Jorge Masvidal. In case there anyone doubted this to be true, Faraldo provided clear-cut evidence when he went airborne at Bellator 252.

In his promotional debut, Faraldo took a page out of Masvidal’s playbook by going airborne and flattening opponent [autotag]Pat Casey[/autotag] (6-4 MMA, 2-3 BMMA) with a running knee knockout at 2:30 of Round 2.

“That’s my man,” Faraldo told MMA Junkie after the fight, when he talked about Masvidal. “Obviously anyone who knows anything about Jorge knows his striking Paulino Hernandez. That’s my man. I’m under him. I look at him more as a guy that I can look to and ask for advice. It’s pretty cool that I finished the fight that way.”

Faraldo has finished all four of his professional fights by knockout or TKO.

Bellator 252 took place Thursday at Mohegan Sun Arena. The main card aired on CBS Sports Network after prelims on MMA Junkie.
