The weigh-ins are in the books for Thursday’s Bellator 247 event in Italy – with some major changes to the lineup.
Paul Daley (42-17-2 MMA, 8-4 BMMA) was set to take on Derek Anderson (16-3 MMA, 7-3 BMMA) in the welterweight main event. But Daley weighed in at 172.6 pounds, didn’t feel well, was taken to the hospital as a precaution – and the fight was canceled as a result. (For his part, Anderson weighed in at 170.4 pounds.)
The new main event will be between women’s flyweights Kate Jackson (11-4-1 MMA, 3-2 BMMA) and Denise Kielholtz (5-2 MMA, 5-2 BMMA), who were scheduled as a featured bout on the main card until Daley’s removal. Jackson weighed in at 125.6; Kielholtz was 123.4.
Bellator 247 takes place Thursday at Allianz Cloud in Milan, Italy. The main card airs on CBS Sports Network following prelims on on MMA Junkie and Bellator’s YouTube page.
