Before she welcomed Willy and his siblings into the world, Margarita “Wonny” Geuer was a Spanish basketball star. She began playing at 14 years old in her hometown of Sevilla, and by 17, she was playing professionally in the Liga Feminina, Spain’s equivalent of the WNBA. Representing Spain from 1985 to 1993, Geuer won four Liga Feminina titles: three consecutive titles from 1984-1986, and one in 1993. Her final two years were her most successful ones, culminating in an Olympic appearance at the Barcelona 1992 Olympics, then the 1993 Liga Feminina title, then the 1993 FIBA European Champions Cup.
