Following free agency, the Bears still have several needs that need to be addressed — from offensive line to tight end to defensive back — and they should be able to add some effective pieces in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Bears are once again without a first-round selection. But they do have two second-round picks, and general manager Ryan Pace needs to make them count.
In Draft Wire’s new post-free agency mock draft, Luke Easterling has the Bears addressing both offensive and defensive needs in tight end and cornerback in the second round.
With the 43rd overall pick, Easterling has Chicago selecting Notre Dame tight end Cole Kmet. Despite adding veteran Jimmy Graham in free agency, the Bears still have a need at tight end. Kmet is arguably the best tight end in the draft, and the Bears will likely have their pick of tight ends in the draft.
Then with the 50th overall pick, Easterling has the Bears selecting Clemson cornerback A.J. Terrell. While the Bears didn’t address cornerback in free agency, they did add former CFL corner Tre Roberson this offseason and also have Kevin Toliver on the roster. Terrell is coming off an impressive performance at the Scouting Combine, and he could certainly be an option to start opposite Kyle Fuller.
Chicago has seven draft picks, after they traded their fourth-round compensatory pick for quarterback Nick Foles. Two of the Bears’ picks come in the second round at No. 43 and No. 50 overall. They also have one pick in the fifth round, as well as two selections both in the sixth and seventh rounds.
