It might be time to start panicking in regards to Allen Robinson’s contract extension.
Robinson has been dropping hints — and flat out expressed his desire to remain a Chicago Bear for life — but the Bears haven’t shown much progress in getting an extension done.
Bears fans have been clamoring for months for the star receiver to get signed to an extension — especially as countless other players have gotten extended this offseason — and now Robinson’s teammates are starting to join in.
While receiver/running back Cordarrelle Patterson has long been an advocate for Robinson’s extension — even as Patterson himself is in a contract year — two new names joined the fray in running back Tarik Cohen and rookie receiver Darnell Mooney.

Things took a turn for the discouraging Monday evening when Robinson removed all photos and videos that had to do with the Bears. Normally, this wouldn’t be anything to overanalyze. But Robinson’s frustrations regarding the lack of an extension are nothing new. He’s even sent out cryptic messages that certainly support the belief that he’s frustrated in nothing getting done.
General manager Ryan Pace has been known for rewarding players with contract extensions in the past, which makes you wonder why the Bears haven’t been able to get a new deal done with Robinson. If there’s anyone that’s earned a new extension, it’s the Bears’ best offensive weapon that managed 1,000 receiving yards in one of the NFL’s worst offenses.
It’s clear that everyone — including Robinson’s teammates — knows that he deserves a contract extension. Except maybe Pace. Which certainly makes Robinson’s frustrations understandable.
