The Chicago Bears continue to be hit hard by COVID-19 this week as two more players have been impacted.
The Bears have placed quarterback Andy Dalton and cornerback Duke Shelley on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Friday.
Dalton has been dealing with a fractured left hand and didn’t practice on Thursday, where the expectation is he would miss Monday night’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Bears opened Shelley’s 21-day window for return from injured reserve as he dealt with a hamstring issue. With Artie Burns on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Shelley’s potential return was important considering the Bears are thin at the position.

The Bears are one of seven teams in enhanced COVID protocols, which also included their Week 15 opponent in the Minnesota Vikings. Chicago now has 13 players currently on the COVID list.
On Thursday, all three coordinators — Bill Lazor, Sean Desai and Chris Tabor — were also placed on the COVID list, which puts their statuses for Monday night in jeopardy.
