New year, same bad offense for Matt Nagy’s Bears. Well, actually, somehow an even worse offense.
The Bears offense has been atrocious this season, which culminated in last Sunday’s 26-6 loss to the Browns, where Chicago mustered just 47 yards of offense, allowed nine sacks on Justin Fields and further exposed Nagy as a poor play caller.
But just how bad has the Bears offense been? (Here’s your last chance to look away.)
The Bears rank dead last in the NFL in several categories, including yards per game (191.7), yards per play (3.3), pass yards per game (90.7) and goal-to-go efficiency (33.3%).

But wait, it gets worse.
Chicago also ranks fifth worst on third down conversions (32.43%), last in yards per pass (3.24) and second to last in points per game (13.3).

The Bears have played two really good defenses in the Rams and Browns, but the struggles stem more from Nagy than anything.
Chicago has a chance to turn things around this Sunday against the Lions, a team that has surrendered 31.7 points per game through three weeks. But it’s going to take a more inspired game plan from Nagy to find an offensive rhythm and find a way to score more than 20 points this season.
