It’s unknown how many official suitors the Eagles had for Carson Wentz, but according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the Colts were the only team to make an official offer.
Per Glazer, despite the Bears and Colts battling to acquire Wentz’s services, the Bears never made a formal offer for the former Eagles star, likely listening to the noise surrounding reports that Wentz preferred Indianapolis and the familiarity of Frank Reich.
Throw in the stability of GM Chris Ballard, and the weapons on both sides of the ball, and this became an easy pick for the former Eagles star.
For Bears General Manager Ryan Pace and coach Matt Nagy, Mitchell Trubisky is a free agent and while Nick Foles remains under contract, the organization is expected to target a starter for 2021.
