Bears LB Roquan Smith uninjured after crashing Mercedes in Lake Forest

Bears second-year ILB Roquan Smith lost control of his car in icy conditions and hit a traffic pole headed to Halas Hall on Tuesday.

It’s been a rough last few weeks for Bears inside linebacker Roquan Smith. The first-round selection from 2018 suffered a torn pectoral muscle in a Week 14 game against the Dallas Cowboys, which cut his season short.

On Tuesday, Smith was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Lake Forest. The second-year linebacker was on his way to Halas Hall when icy road conditions caused him to lose control of his white 2019 Mercedes Benz and he hit a traffic pole, according to the Sun-Times.

Smith was not injured in the crash, and he was given a ride to Halas Hall.

Before his pectoral injury, Smith was playing some of his best football. Smith had surgery to repair the torn pec and is expected to be ready for training camp in July.
