Bears’ Justin Fields and Allen Robinson rank first among rookie QB-veteran WR pairings

David Carr released his rookie QB-veteran WR rankings for the 2021 season, and Bears’ Justin Fields and Allen Robinson were on top.

There’s a ton of excitement with the arrival of rookie quarterback Justin Fields and what he can do for what’s been an anemic offense. While Fields isn’t expected to get the start right away, it feels like a foregone conclusion that the 11th overall pick will see the field some time in 2021.

And when Fields does eventually get the start, he’ll have a plethora of offensive weapons from running back David Montgomery to receiver Darnell Mooney to tight end Cole Kmet. But Fields’ biggest weapon will be receiver Allen Robinson, who’s coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with subpar quarterback play.

NFL Network’s David Carr released his rookie quarterback-veteran wide receivers rankings for the 2021 season, and it’s no surprise that Fields and  Robinson lead the pack.

Fields and Robinson atop the list makes a ton of sense given the star potential of Fields and the staying power of Robinson, who has been a pillar of consistency since he arrived in Chicago back in 2018.

What Robinson has accomplished in three years with the Bears — 255 receptions for 3,151 yards and 17 touchdowns — has been nothing short of impressive. Especially given that he’s played with the likes of Mitchell Trubisky, Nick Foles and Chase Daniel.

While we don’t know how Fields will ultimately fare at the NFL level, if he lives up to even half of his potential, it will be an immediate upgrade from any other quarterback Robinson has played with in the NFL.
