It’s not breaking news that the Chicago Bears are looking to shop quarterback Nick Foles, especially with the final round of roster cuts looming. But Albert Breer’s new report that suggests Foles somehow has a say in a potential trade destination certainly caught everyone’s eye.
“The Bears will listen on Nick Foles, but I’ve also long gotten the sense they aren’t going to send him somewhere he doesn’t want to go,” Breer wrote.
Bears fans cannot understand how Foles could possibly have any say in a potential new destination given he doesn’t have a potential trade clause, and it’s another ding against Bears management.
While the Bears organization is worried about not hurting feels in trading Foles to a team he doesn’t want to go to or promising to start Andy Dalton, it’s hard to believe why they haven’t shown that same consideration to their No 1 wide receiver Allen Robinson in a contract extension.
With news that the Bears will only trade Foles to a destination he approves, Twitter had plenty of reaction — and it’s clear fans believe Chicago owes him nothing other than the guaranteed money.
