Drafted by the Vikings, Cordarrelle Patterson was once a stellar return man and promising wide receiver prospect for Minnesota.
As time went on, he remained good in the return game, but never really panned out on the offensive side of the ball. Patterson ended up signing with the Raiders next.
Now, Patterson is a member of the Bears, the Vikings’ next opponent on Monday night. He remains a good return man and even has a limited, versatile offensive role with Chicago.
He talked about facing his former team with reporters recently:
“I still got a lot of guys over there that I still talk to,” Patterson said, via Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press. “At the end of the day it’s a football game. No matter what team. I’m on you always want to win. People can say it’s a revenge game, but just playing football and get these Ws.”
With how bad the Vikings special teams was against the Lions — basically, across the board — it wouldn’t be shocking if Patterson had some impressive returns against this team. He’ll be interesting to watch on Monday.
