Tennessee’s men’s basketball team was routed by Florida, 75-49, in a Southeastern Conference tilt in Gainesville Tuesday night.
A former Knoxville area high school star had his best game of the 2020-21 season for the Gators.
Gators’ sophomore guard Ques Glover scored a season-high 10 points.
Glover, who hails from Knoxville, played his high school basketball at Bearden. With the Bulldogs, Glover was a 4-year starter.
Along with current Tennessee sophomore center Drew Pember, Glover helped Bearden win the 2019 TSSAA Class AAA state championship. The Bulldogs are still the defending state champions as the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Division I boys state tournament to be canceled.
Glover was the state tournament’s most valuable player as he scored 24 points in the championship game against Memphis East, which featured Golden State Warriors’ rookie James Wiseman.
As a freshman in Gainesville, Glover appeared in 31 games and averaged 4.4 points per game. He scored in double figures four times last season.
He has appeared in 10 games this season for Florida.
