Mohamed Ibrahim was the lead back in 2018 as a freshman when then-starter Rodney Smith went down with an injury. The Golden Gopher took advantage of the situation and turned 202 carries into 1160 yards and nine touchdowns.

2019 then saw his carry number drop in half as he rushed for 604 yards and seven touchdowns on 114 carries with Smith back in as the starter.

Looking forward to this year now, Smith is gone from the backfield and Ibrahim is set to return back to the carry volume he received freshman year–one which will most likely see him repeat or even surpass his production from that season.
