Back-to-back! Caitlin Clark named Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year for second year in a row

Iowa guard Caitlin Clark has been named the Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year for the second year in a row.

Once was good, but twice is nice! Caitlin Clark has high goals set for herself along with the Iowa Hawkeyes having high goals as a team for this upcoming 2023-24 women’s college basketball season and it is rapidly approaching tipoff.

For the second straight year in a row, Caitlin Clark has been named the Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year. Last year Clark was the 2022-23 Big Ten Player of the Year, a unanimous First Team All-Big Ten member, the Wooden Award National Player of the Year, and the Naismith Women’s College Player of the Year. That is to only name a handful. The list could be much, much longer.

Caitlin Clark is coming off of a season that saw her stuff the stat sheet in nearly every way. She averaged 27.8 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game, 8.6 assists per game, while shooting 47.3% from the field, 38.9% from three-point range, and 83.9% from the free throw stripe.

Clark and the Hawkeyes enter this season with very high expectations after making an appearance in the National Championship last year. They are expected to be among the top teams in the country all season long.
