Bachelor Power Rankings: Peter makes his worst decision yet

Peter made a stunning decision at the Rose Ceremony and is setting himself up to fail.

Peter Weber is headed to Fantasy Suites in Australia with his final three women – but will his baffling decision in the last Rose Ceremony haunt him forever? We’ll be recapping each episode and ranking all the contestants weekly on FTW.

1. Hannah Ann

Last week’s rank: 2

Before Hometowns week, Peter had clear reservations about whether Hannah Ann, 23, was ready for marriage. Hannah Ann’s cheesy “things I love about you note” may have changed Peter’s mind, because from the moment he arrived in Knoxville, his attitude toward Hannah Ann changed dramatically – enough to vault her into the No. 1 spot ahead of Fantasy Suites.

After going axe throwing, Peter surprised Hannah with his own lengthy “things I love about you note,” which predicted a future for the “clumsy two.”

“She’s expressed multiple times how she feels about me, and I need to do the same, because I know exactly how I’m feeling about Hannah Ann, and there’s no need for me to hold that back.”

Hannah Ann’s dad – who didn’t seem particularly excited that his oldest daughter was on a dating game show – gave Peter a reason, though, warning him not to express his “love” for Hannah Ann unless he wholeheartedly felt it. At the end of the night, Peter blew directly through that warning sign and told Hannah Ann that he’s falling in love with her, because it “feels so right.”

Depending on how Peter reacts to Madison’s ultimatum, Hannah Ann may be a few weeks away from a proposal.

2. Madison

Last week’s rank: 1

Peter visited Auburn Arena go through some basketball drills with former Auburn star Madison, and was supervised by current Auburn men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl. Peter, if you’re wondering, is terrible at basketball, and was roasted by Pearl when he struggled to dribble two balls simultaneously. (Who knew Peter would be bad at juggling multiple things!?)

In a confessional, Peter admitted that he has “the best feeling in the world” about Madison, and while she has not yet told him that she’s in love, he feels it.

Unfortunately for Peter, Madison’s home was a lion’s den. Both of Madison’s parents questioned whether Peter and Madison knew enough about each other to be sure about their relationship, which is way too reasonable for this program. It was revealed that Madison is saving herself for marriage, something that she has not yet told Peter ahead of Fantasy Suite week.

Madison’s conversations with her parents seemed to reinforce her reservations about Peter, and she was not willing to drop the L-word, even after Peter told her he was falling “head over heels” for her. After receiving a rose, the episode ended with Madison pulling Peter aside, likely to tell him that she does not want him to sleep with any of the other contestants.

Peter now faces a very difficult decision. He can either go ahead with his normally planned fantasy suite dates and sacrifice his relationship with Madison – who may or may not be The One – or he can commit to her. Given how strong his relationship is with Hannah Ann, and how big of a deal sex has been for him in his Bachelor career, it’s hard to imagine Peter not entering a fantasy suite at all next week.

I suppose it’s possible that Peter works out a deal with Hannah Ann that they simply won’t sleep together out of respect for Madison… but come on, it’s Peter.

3. Kelsey (eliminated)

Last week’s rank: 3

Kelsey entertained Peter by giving him some not-so-uniquely Iowan experiences, like stomping on grapes at a winery and eating crab rangoon. Kelsey, who has been more expressive about her feelings than any of the other remaining women, told Peter that she’s fully in love with him, which made him “happy.”

The family meeting was fairly standard and nothing notable occurred – which made Kelsey’s exit all the more puzzling. Peter had to send someone home, of course, but since #ChampagneGate and the end of the Tammy inquisition, Kelsey’s effectively aced all of her solo interactions with Peter and left him with zero red flags. He’s said nothing but glowing things about Kelsey in his confessionals – yet he picked Victoria F. to go to fantasy suites. It’s possible that Kelsey may have come on a bit too strong and spooked Peter, but this decision doesn’t make sense. See you in Paradise, Kelsey.

4. Victoria F.

Last week’s rank: 4

Victoria F.’s hometown date was even more of a disaster than the previews indicated it would be, as Peter happened to run into an ex girlfriend in Virginia Beach who urged him to break off his relationship. Following the day portion of his date with Victoria, a woman named Merissa warned Peter about Victoria, who she used to be friends with. According to Merissa, Victoria has caused numerous relationships to end. In an interview with Us Weekly, Merissa slammed Victoria, who she claims is hiding her true character on the show.

“We became friends when I moved back from Los Angeles about three years ago. Our first encounter was that she told me she was going to slash my tires because I was hanging out with one of her ex-boyfriends.”

There have already been plenty of red flags in Peter’s relationship with Victoria F., and when given such a harsh warning from someone he had a close relationship with and presumably respects, one would assume that would be enough for Peter to finally move on. When Peter confronted Victoria F. over what he had been told, Victoria F. dodged the accusations and blatantly gaslighted him.

Victoria F.: “I like, adore you. I really wanted to tell you tonight that I’m falling in love with you.”

Peter left Virginia Beach without meeting Victoria F.’s family – but stunned Bachelor Nation by still offering her a rose to continue to Fantasy Suites. At this point, I’m beginning to think that Peter and Victoria F. deserve each other.
