Australian Open 2023: Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek remain favorites to win men’s and women’s singles

The favorites remain the favorites.

The Australian Open 2023 is off and running. Over two days of action, several competitive matches and a few upsets on both the men’s and women’s sides have set the tone for the rest of the tournament.

BetMGM suggests the Australian Open could end with a couple of the world’s best hoisting trophies.

Novak Djokovic has won nine Australian Open titles in his career (a record), so despite being the No. 5 player in the world, his -125 odds at the sportsbook are the shortest of any remaining player in the field to win the tournament.

Daniil Medvedev (+450), Rafael Nadal (+1200), Stefanos Tsitsipas (+1400) and Taylor Fritz (+1800) round out the top-5 Australian Open title favorites for the men’s bracket.

Unlike the men’s singles, the odds-on favorite to win the women’s bracket isn’t a former Australian Open champion. Instead, the No. 1 player in the world, 21-year-old Iga Swiatek, is the tournament’s favorite with +220 odds.

Aryna Sabalenka (+700) and Jessica Pegula (+750) have the second and third-best odds to win the open while Coco Gauff (+1200), Caroline Garcia (+1200) and Belinda Bencic (+1200) all share the next-shortest title odds.
