Like all former Titans who have signed elsewhere this offseason, Johnson said his goodbye to the team that drafted him in the second round (No. 43 overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft with a statement on Instagram.

“What an incredible journey it has been here in Tennessee. I’m beyond grateful to this organization for drafting me. These past 4 years have been nothing short of amazing. I wanna thank all my coaches and teammates for making this experience one I will never forget. I will definitely cherish these memories but I’m excited to see where this next chapter takes me. Nashville has shown my family and I nothing but love and we can’t thank you enough.”

This is a homecoming for Johnson, who was born in Galloway, New Jersey, and played his college ball at Penn State.

The 25-year-old will have an opportunity to battle it out for a starting spot on the Giants’ defensive line, but more likely than not he’ll provide the kind of solid depth he did for the Titans in 2019.
