[autotag]Austin Hill[/autotag] has been among the best drivers in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and his success is paying off. On Friday afternoon, Richard Childress Racing announced that Hill will drive the No. 33 car in select NASCAR Cup Series races during the 2024 season. The 29-year-old driver’s first race will be at Texas Motor Speedway on April 14.
Hill made five Cup Series starts with Beard Motorsports in 2023, but his debut came in Richard Childress Racing’s third entry at Michigan International Speedway in 2022. The driver of the No. 33 car finished in 18th place, but his best finish came at Daytona International Speedway in 2023, where he ended up in 14th place.

The other races on Hill’s schedule were not announced, but Texas represents his first Cup Series event on a 1.5-mile track. The Richard Childress Racing driver has been a force in NASCAR over the last few years, and it will be fascinating to see him translate to the Cup Series. Maybe Hill’s efforts in 2024 could lead to a full-time opportunity in 2025.
