Au’Diese Toney has been a key piece to No. 16 Arkansas’ success this season.
The senior guard is one of four Razorbacks to average double-digit scoring this season with 10.4 points per contest. He also pulls down 5.3 rebounds a game, and shoots a .520 clip from the free-throw line.
Toney missed the Tennessee game last Saturday after suffering an ankle injury in Arkansas’ 77-76 win over LSU on March 2. Because of that, Toney’s health status is still in question for the upcoming SEC Tournament, head coach Eric Musselman said in his weekly press conference on Tuesday.
Musselman says that he wants Toney to be as healthy as can be before he allows him to return to the floor, but says that Toney has been working hard to get back to where he needs to be.
“He’s been nothing but in a boot. (The training staff was) able to get him to do some cardio on the bike,” says Musselman. “Pool work, running-wise, that’s not part of the equation, but he was on a bike.”
The Razorbacks open their stay in the SEC Tournament on Friday afternoon. Arkansas, the No. 4 seed in the tournament, will face the winner of LSU vs. Missouri/Ole Miss at 1 p.m. CT at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.
