Fresh off of a challenging game against No. 5 Tennessee last Saturday, the Auburn Tigers are poised to get back into the win column by traveling to College Station, Texas on Tuesday to face the Texas A&M Aggies.

Tuesday’s game will be a rematch of a game played on Jan. 25 at Neville Arena that Texas A&M won, 79-63. The Aggies won the game by jumping out to a 45-30 halftime lead behind a 54% shooting effort from beyond the arc. Auburn could not catch up to Texas A&M’s comfortable halftime lead, thus surrendering their 28-game home winning streak, the nation’s longest at the time.

What will Auburn need to do with its’ second chance against the Aggies? Pearl says it is all about focusing on what they do best.

“Texas A&M put 79 on us, you know, and that’s the highest total we’ve given up in league play so it starts with our ability to be able to guard them,” Pearl said Monday. “Our defense has been good, acquires a tremendous amount of effort, energy, and focus on things that we do in the scout.”
