Auburn Softball remains in top 25 of major polls following spectacular opening weekend

Auburn holds their place in the top-25 across the board following an offensive explosion in Clearwater.

Auburn Softball’s 2023 campaign has gotten off to a hot start.

Fresh off of a 40-win season in 2022, Auburn opened this season by posting four wins in the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Florida. Of those four wins, Auburn posted three shutouts and would go on to outscore their opponents, 41-8.

[autotag]Carlee McCondichie[/autotag] led all batters by going 8-for-15 at the plate, and we were all introduced to Michigan transfer [autotag]Annabelle Widra[/autotag], who shined in the circle as well as the plate. The most notable performance of the weekend goes to [autotag]Maddie Penta[/autotag], who earned SEC Pitcher of the Week after she struck out 31 batters while issuing just three walks in 15.0 innings.
