Auburn won their third straight series last weekend by taking two of three games from South Carolina in Columbia.
The series win was Auburn’s second consecutive win over an SEC team on the road. The hot streak comes at a good time for the Tigers, as they host Mississippi State this weekend for the final conference series of the season before traveling to Fayetteville, Arkansas to compete in the SEC Tournament at Bogle Park.
The series win keeps Auburn in the top 20 of the latest USA TODAY/NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll, but they remain the No. 17 team in the country despite the series win.
The biggest mover this week was Clemson, who dropped from No. 6 to No. 11 in this week’s poll after dropping the series to Virginia Tech on the road. Alabama earned an impressive series win over LSU, which was good enough to move them up two places this week, while the series loss dropped LSU two spots.
