Auburn softball has made its first big addition of the offseason, adding former DePaul infielder [autotag]Anna Wohlers[/autotag] from the transfer portal on Wednesday.
Auburn has lost several key contributors from last year’s roster and needed to add some proven talent as they look to improve on last year’s third-place finish in the SEC, and Wohlers is exactly that.
She quickly became a key player for the Blue Demons, starting 52 games and being named to the All-BIG EAST second team as a freshman. She was even better last season, leading the Blue Demons in average (.364), homers (12), doubles (15), RBI (38), slugging percentage (.728) and on-base percentage (.446).
Wohlers was named to the All-BIG EAST first team after her stellar season. She has spent time at third base and catcher and made just 15 errors to 199 putouts and 96 assists in her career. She will have two seasons of eligibility at Auburn.
I am excited to announce that I will be continuing my last two years of eligibility with @AuburnSoftball ! WAR EAGLE🧡🤍 pic.twitter.com/XVpdIclDwG
