Auburn football dropped another game last week, losing its SEC opener to Arkansas, 24-14.
Auburn outgained the Razorbacks by nearly 100 yards, but costly turnovers and a lack of red zone trips ultimately led to the loss. Because of this, the Tigers experienced another drop in this week’s USA TODAY Sports re-rank.
The Tigers fell 14 spots to No. 81 in this week’s ranking curated by Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY Sports. So far, Auburn has dropped 37 places in the re-rank since Myerberg’s post-spring reveal.
Auburn was not the only program to experience a significant drop in this week’s re-rank. Outside of Auburn, 21 other programs also fell more than 10 spots following week four’s action, with Appalachian State taking the biggest blow. The Mountaineers now rank No. 80, 37 spots below last week’s ranking.
This week, Auburn will face Oklahoma at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Sooners check in at No. 19 in this week’s re-rank, falling three spots after losing to Tennessee last Saturday, 25-15.
