Auburn has completely changed the way they recruit and use tight ends under [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag].
The current group of tight ends is one of the most talented groups on the roster and the Tigers are not slowing down their pursuit of top-tier talent at the position. They extended an offer to four-star tight end [autotag]Christian Bentancur[/autotag] on Thursday.
Bentancur is a member of the 2024 recruiting class and is ranked as the No. 151 overall player and No. 8 tight end in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also the No. 3 player from Illinois.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Bentancur is coming off of a monster sophomore season where he caught 49 passes for 1,020 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The Woodstock, Illinois native already has over 30 scholarship offers and is being pursued by Clemson, Ohio State, Texas A&M, and others.
Team captain John Samuel Shenker will be out of eligibility after this season and Auburn has yet to land a tight end in the 2023 recruiting class, making their efforts in the 2024 class even more important.
