Auburn offer three-star linebacker out of Tennessee

Auburn is so far the only Power 5 team to give him an offer.

The Tigers may not have a strong 2023 recruiting class at the moment, but there’s still plenty of time to boost it.

Coach [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] and company’s latest effort to do so is offering linebacker Bryan Longwell, a three-star recruit out of Tennessee. Longwell is considered by 247Sports’ composite rankings to be the 72nd-best linebacker in the class and the 27th-best linebacker in Tennessee.

The Tigers are Longwell’s first offer from an SEC school (Longwell has had interest from his home-state Vanderbilt Commodores, but has yet to receive an offer). In fact, the Tigers are the first Power 5 team to give him an offer thus far, so perhaps the prestige will entice Longwell if his hometown-Commodores don’t throw him an offer as the recruiting period winds down.

At the moment, the Tigers boast 11 recruits and the No. 49 recruiting class in the nation for 2023. There are no linebackers among that number, so perhaps the offer to Longwell is the beginning of a push to get one aboard before recruiting season is over.
