Auburn has landed their second transfer of the offseason and it is at a key position.
Pass rusher [autotag]Elijah McAllister[/autotag] committed to Auburn Tuesday morning after spending the previous five seasons at Vanderbilt.
The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder was listed as a defensive lineman at Vanderbilt but will be either an edge rusher or defensive end for Auburn. Regardless of his position, he will primarily serve as a pass-rusher and will help sure up a group that desperately needs reinforcements. Dylan Brooks is the only scholarship edge player from last year’s squad set to return in 2023.
After redshirting in 2018, McAllister had his best season in 2019, making 26 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and forcing a fumble. He did not play during the 2020 covid season. In 37 career games, he finished with 65 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception.
The Rumson, New Jersey, native was a team captain in 2022 and he will have one season of eligibility on the Plains. He is Auburn’s second addition through the transfer portal after FIU tight end Rivaldo Fairweather committed to Auburn on Sunday.
It’s time to get back to playing that brand of Auburn Football we all know and love. Committed. #WarEagle 🦅
