College football provided many special moments in Week 1. The best, however, may not have happened on the field.
Kudos to Auburn for the choice to honor the memories of the 13 soldiers who lost their lives in the bombing at the airport in Afghanistan.
The moving gesture happened at Auburn’s 60-10 victory over Akron at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday.
There were 13 seats left open, one for each life lost.
Well done, War Eagle.

11 Marines, a Navy sailor and an Army soldier died during last week’s attack at the Kabul airport. Loved ones and cities across the nation paid tribute to those that were lost. https://t.co/GxLq6WUaHY
