Auburn basketball hopes to run its win streak to four games on Friday when it hosts Alabama State at Neville Arena. ESPN predicts that the Tigers should have zero problems making that dream a reality.
According to the latest projection from ESPN’s matchup predictor, Auburn has a 99% chance to take care of business Friday against Alabama State.
Alabama State has four players, including two starters, who average double-figures each game, but Auburn dominates nearly every category. Auburn averages ten more points per game than Alabama State and allows eight fewer points. The Tigers also have more assists, blocks, and a higher field goal percentage.
The two categories that Alabama State tops Auburn in are rebounds and steals. The Hornets pull down 42 rebounds per game compared to Auburn’s 40. When it comes to steals, the Hornets take away 7.9 possessions per game while Auburn only steals 7.0.
Auburn is also worlds apart from Alabama State when it comes to KenPom analytics. The Tigers enter the game ranked No. 7 in the latest KenPom update, while Alabama State checks in at No. 318.
